Best Smiths cover ever? Name a better one.
I’ll go with that. I definitely can’t think of a better one. The Smiths seem like such a hard band to cover, because Marr’s guitar style and Morrissey’s vocals are so distinctive that unless you put an equally bold (but different) stamp of your own on one of their songs it’s just not going to live up. (Even if it’s good, like, say, that Dum Dum Girls cover recently.)
